Wayne Transfer to Graham Records
Wayne County identifies Graham Correctional Center as the initial IDOC destination for adult men sentenced to Illinois prison. When the sheriff delivers a sentenced person to Graham, Wayne County custody ends and IDOC custody begins. That county-jail exit is a transfer. It does not prove a return to the community or a release from the prison sentence.

Graham may serve as a reception or transfer point rather than a permanent institution. IDOC can move a person after admission. Search Graham Release Status
The Illinois Department of Corrections calls its official locator the Individual in Custody Search. It covers people committed to IDOC, not everyone who left Wayne County Jail. The live form accepts an IDOC number, birthdate, or last name, including a partial surname. An IDOC number is the strongest starting field because names and dates can match more than one person.
- Open the official IDOC search and select the offered search method.
- Enter the IDOC number exactly when known. Otherwise use the birthdate or enough of the surname to produce a useful result set.
- Compare the name and available identity details. Do not select a record solely because a name looks similar.
- Open the profile and record the IDOC number, current institution or status, admission and release fields, sentencing information, and any Projected Parole Date.
- Read a projected date as changeable. Confirm a completed prison exit through current status and actual release information.

Graham Release Is Not Discharge
IDOC separates admission, projected release, actual prison exit, mandatory release, and final discharge. A person can leave Graham Correctional Center and enter mandatory supervised release, commonly called MSR. That person is outside the prison building but remains under state authority. Final discharge comes later, when the sentence and supervision relationship ends.

IDOC warns that a person may produce no search result after sentence and parole have been discharged. That dropout makes the public search least complete for some fully finished cases. Confirm the old sentence through the court, then ask IDOC for public admission, release, status, and discharge information.
Graham Projected Release Records
The profile label “Projected Parole Date” and IDOC's formal projected release, mandatory release, and discharge dates are related but not interchangeable. Sentence structure, applicable credit, lost time, presentence credit, court corrections, consecutive or concurrent terms, recommitment, and detainers can affect calculations. A date should not be turned into a firm pickup time or facility promise.
Illinois has no single rule that every prisoner serves the same percentage. The sentence-credit statute, 730 ILCS 5/3-6-3, assigns different treatment according to the offense, date, and circumstances. Some enumerated serious offenses are limited to 4.5 days of credit per month, often described as an 85 percent framework. Other categories include different limits, day-for-day treatment, or no sentence credit. Apply the current statute and IDOC calculation to the precise sentence.
Many determinate sentences lead to MSR after prison. Modern determinate release is not automatically an old-style discretionary parole decision. The Illinois Prisoner Review Board sets parole and MSR conditions and handles defined hearing matters, while IDOC parole staff supervise in the field. A PRB calendar is not a directory of all Graham releases.
Note: A Board grant, projected date, and physical prison exit can differ because conditions, detainers, planning, and processing still remain.
Request Graham Release Records
Use IDOC, not Wayne County FOIA, for Graham admission, institutional location, actual prison release, status, and final discharge records. The sheriff remains responsible for the earlier Wayne booking and transfer event. The Wayne court remains the source for the sentence and commitment order. Keeping custodians separate prevents one office's record from being mistaken for another agency's action.
IDOC says publicly disclosable information for current or former individuals includes the name, IDOC number, parent institution, current location or status, vital statistics, admission and release dates, and sentencing information. Request those specific fields and identify the person with the IDOC number when possible. Confidential information can remain unavailable or redacted.

Confirm Graham Release Evidence
The most reliable conclusion uses at least two compatible sources. An IDOC actual release field and current outside-prison status can establish state prison exit. The Wayne court sentence confirms why state custody began, but it does not prove when Graham or another IDOC institution later released the person.

A current Graham location proves present placement only. It does not predict the institution of release, the release day, or whether a later IDOC transfer will occur.
State prison release also differs from county release and federal release. IDOC documents an Illinois prison path. The Wayne sheriff documents only local custody, while BOP and ICE records apply only when facts place the person in those systems. A scope-qualified statement is more accurate than claiming freedom from every agency.
